South Jersey-born singer Christina Grimmie’s memory was recently honored in an awesome way in “Psych: The Movie.”
Fans of the USA Network’s long-running mystery series may have caught a glimpse of Shawn (played by actor James Roday) wearing a black #TeamGrimmie T-shirt in the holiday movie that premiered last month.
The Christina Grimmie Foundation announced the news by sharing the photo on social media and thanking the show’s team and Roday for the support.
#Teamwork: #TeamGrimmie we’re looking forward to tonight’s premier of @Psych_USA – The Movie on @USA_Network at 8pm EST. Thanks for your support @JamesRoday 💚 #CGForever pic.twitter.com/Nf4eVPXVbs

Grimmie, who rose to fame on YouTube and as a contestant on “The Voice,” was shot and killed in 2016 while signing autographs after a show in Orlando, Florida. Her family started “The Christina Grimmie Foundation” to help support families who have lost a loved one to gun violence or are dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis. Before her death, Grimmie’s mother Tina was diagnosed with the disease.
