4 Virtual Fundraisers – and a Golf Outing – to Give Back to South Jersey

Every year, SJ Magazine is happy to serve as the Media Sponsor for nonprofits who are hosting annual fundraisers. This year, as you can imagine, things are shaping up a little differently, and many of the organizations are being super creative as they host virtual events. SJ Magazine is happy to sponsor these fall events.

OAKS Integrated Care

Come Together Week
October 16-23
In years past, OAKS has hosted their popular progressive dinner, where attendees travel to different houses for dinner with an SJ chef. This year, the nonprofit has planned a week of virtual events, including a concert, cooking demonstration with Food Network Chef Aaron McCargo Jr. and curbside restaurant week. Proceeds benefit OAKS Food Pantry. To take part, visit the website.

Cooper Health Foundation

Pink Roses Teal Magnolias
October 25
Each year, nearly 1,000 women attend this uplifting event that spotlights the inspirational stories of Cancer survivors and the healthcare workers who treat them. This year, though, those 1,000 women (maybe more) can log on to watch the virtual celebration. (And look for the pink lights on the Ben Franklin Bridge on Oct. 24!) Proceeds benefit women’s cancer programs at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. To take part, visit the website.

Alicia Rose “Victorious” Foundation Birthday Bash

October 30
Every October, ARVF co-founders Gisele and Mario DiNatale invite supporters to celebrate their late daughter’s birthday at their annual fundraiser. Sixteen-year-old Alicia was the inspiration for the foundation, which supports teens coping with cancer by building teen rooms in hospitals and sending teen kits and bandana pillows to kids battling the disease. This year, virtual party-goers can still have lots of fun when they watch the online event, complete with a silent auction and electronic program book. If you donate over $100, you’ll receive a special “Bash in a Box” – filled with fun and surprises – delivered right to your door. To take part, visit the website.

Katz JCC

Festival of Arts, Books and Culture
November 8-19
The well-respected book festival hosts events all year long, culminating with a special fun-filled week featuring talks and interviews with well-known authors, celebrities and media personalities. This year’s event promises to have the same appealing content, which you can watch online. (On Nov. 17, SJ Magazine’s Marianne Aleardi will host a talk with author Cameron Douglas – son of Michael and grandson of Kirk – about his new book “Long Way Home,” which tells his story of addiction.) To take part, visit the website.

STG Fund/The Community Foundation of South Jersey

Annual Golf Invitational & Dinner
October 26
SJ Magazine is also a media sponsor for the STG annual golf tournament. No need to go virtual for this event! Flyers Hall of Famer Bobby Clarke is honorary chair of this annual golf tournament held at Tavistock Country Club. There is an option for 9 holes in the morning or a full round in the afternoon. To take part, visit the website.
