7 Free South Jersey events this fall

This season, we’re having fun without breaking our budget – thanks to these free fall events.

Irish Festival 

Oct. 12 & 13 

Historic Smithville’s annual festival celebrating everything Irish returns for another year of family fun. Fill your weekend with Irish music, food, dancing, performances, shopping and more. The festival runs from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday. For more information, visit the website

Hunter’s Moon Weekend

Oct. 12-14

Truly get in the fall spirit with Cape May-area vendors, food and drink specials, live music and more at Willow Creek Winery. The festival runs from 11:30 am to 6 pm each day. For more information, visit the website

Ocean City Fall Block Party 

Oct. 12 

Spend the day browsing local food vendors, crafters and more while hearing live music in Ocean City’s downtown. The free block party will take place between 5th and 14th St. on Asbury Ave. from 9 am to 5 pm. For more information, visit the website

Collingswood 2nd Saturday

Oct. 12 

Stroll the streets of Collingswood as musicians perform and artists exhibit their works between the various shops and restaurants along Haddon Avenue. The free event runs from 5 to 9 pm. For more information, visit the website

Harvest Festival 

Oct. 20

Spend the day taking in the sights and sounds of Croft Farm’s classic harvest festival, featuring crafters, a fire truck display, a beer garden, food vendors, pumpkins, a petting zoo and much more. The festival runs from noon to 4 pm. For more information, visit the website

Dog Days 

Oct. 26

Our favorite furry friends are descending on the boards for Ocean City’s annual canine celebration. All leashed dogs will be allowed on the boardwalk from 9 am to 5 pm Saturday and 9 am to 3 pm Sunday, with plenty of dog-friendly activities, vendors, photo-ops and Humane Society of Ocean City’s “Pet of the Year” announcement. Haddon Square Harvest Market 

Nov. 2 

Take “shop local” to the next level at this open air bazaar hosted at Haddon Square in Haddon Township. With local artists and makers selling everything from art and jewelry to gourmet items, there’s something for everyone – plus, live music and a beer garden. The market runs from 11 am to 4 pm.
