Is it hot out here or is it just us? Check out these 5 South Jersey places to cool off this summer!
The beach!
Just a quick drive and you’ll be at the perfect spot to soak up the sun and cool down at the Jersey shore. And several of our Shore towns have Boardwalks, so when the temps cool for the night, head to there for lots of fun with games, rides and food. For more information, read our shore story.
Clementon Park & Splash World
Clementon
Clementon Park is one of the oldest amusement parks in the U.S., but a renovation gave the park a giant water park. Spend the morning hitting the rides, and then cool off on the crazy water slides or coasting through the lazy river. For more information, visit the website.
Lake Nummy
In Belleplain State Park
Whether you’re looking for an afternoon (or morning) swim, a kayaking trip or some fishing, Lake Nummy has plenty to do. Plus, it features a concession stand and a playground. Swimming is permitted from Wed. to Sun. while lifeguards are on duty between 10 am and 5:30 pm. For more information, visit the website.
Lake Absegami
Take a dip this weekend in Lake Absegami, fitted with a number of camp, cabin and tent sites nearby. And in addition to swimming in the lake, the surrounding Bass River State Forest also features a picnic pavilion, boat launch, fishing and hiking trails. Swimming is only permitted when lifeguards are on duty. For more information, visit the website.
Bridgeton Splash Park
25 Mayor Aitken Dr, Bridgeton
Nestled right next to the Cohanzick Zoo, the 7,500-square foot Bridgeton Splash Park has something for everyone: buckets, fountains, water wheels, cannons and more. Plus, plenty of seating areas for parents and visitors to sit back and relax. The park is open from 11 am to 6 pm during the summer (until the school year starts again).
