Summer is winding down, so we’re pushing the fun into high gear with fairs, festivals, a lighthouse climb and more family fun.
Salem County Fair
August 3-7
It’s county fair time! The Salem County Fair is back with a pig scramble, kiddie tractor pull, lots of farm animals, rodeo events, food and more. The fair is free at the Salem County Fairgrounds. Schedule varies each day, check website for times. For more information, visit the website.
National Lighthouse Day
August 7
Celebrate the historic towers that overlook the Atlantic Ocean with events, free climbs and more along the South Jersey coast. Wildwood’s Hereford Inlet Lighthouse will have games and a ceremony. Atlantic City’s Absecon Lighthouse will have a petting zoo, pony rides, games and face painting. Children can earn a junior lightkeeper certificate at Barnegat Lighthouse. Cape May Lighthouse will have a crafts and collectibles show.
Navy SEAL Challenge
August 9
Test your physical endurance and mental toughness – or watch a bunch of other people do it – during Wildwood’s Navy SEAL Challenge. The challenges kick off at 6 pm at E Lincoln Ave. and the beach. For more information, visit the website.
Crafts & Arts Festival
August 16
The 20th annual crafts & arts festival brings artists, crafters, food vendors and more to Haddon Ave. for a day of fun and creativity. The free festival runs from 10 am to 5 pm. For more information, visit the website.
Dominican Restoration Day
August 16
Celebrate Dominican culture with a parade, music and local vendors. The parade starts at noon at Market and 5th St., followed by a free concert, food vendors and more at Wiggins Waterfront Park (3 to 7 pm). For more information, visit the website.
Hummingbird Hangouts

Tomato Day

Burlington County Farmers Market is celebrating our favorite Jersey Fresh produce: the tomato. Stop by for giveaways, cooking demos, a scavenger hunt for kids, live music and a classic farmers market. The market is open from 8:30 am to 1 pm at Burlington County Agricultural Center.
