>> And then the Super Bowl happened

From Exit 4 to Hollywood, we’ve loved interviewing famous people with SJ ties through the years. It’s amazing to us how many incredibly talented, successful people have either grown up here, make SJ their home or have otherwise left their mark on our patch of the Garden State. Is there something in the Jersey-fresh air? Whatever the reason, we’re happy they’ve taken the time to give us an inside look at their lives.

Carrie Fisher

Princess Leia comes to SJ
January 2013
SJ Magazine Editor-in-Chief Marianne Aleardi had just hosted an evening with Carrie Fisher at the Katz JCC Festival of Arts, Books and Culture, where the two got up-close and personal in front of 700 audience members. Fisher’s stories and insights were simply too good not to share with our readers. The Hollywood movie icon, who passed away in 2016, gave us our most open and honest interview.

Anthony Bourdain

What a trip
August 2014
When we got the interview with the late Anthony Bourdain it not only checked a celebrity off our bucket list, but it finished the list. Bourdain was the last of about 12 celebrities we had targeted for the cover. But no worries, it didn’t take long for us to write a whole new list!

Carli Lloyd

We started covering Carli Lloyd in 2008, just as she was breaking out to become a soccer sensation. In the years that followed, Carli partnered with us more than once to share her story – as it unfolded – with our readers.

Carson Wentz

This superstar quarterback has been gracious to grant us several interviews over the years – so we’re going to keep on loving Carson through thick and thin (or maybe we should say, through wins and losses).

Jon Bon Jovi

He’s one of our favorite celebrities to feature on the cover. We’ve interviewed him multiple times about his humanitarian work in Camden describing the vital support he’s given to the city. And each time, we get requests from his fans around the world to have an issue shipped to them.

Kelly Ripa

A true Jersey girl – born and raised in Stratford – Kelly Ripa was at the top of our cover wish list for years. She first appeared on the cover with her dad Joe when he was running for Camden County freeholder and we photographed them at a campaign stop. That opened the door. We featured Ripa again when she began her very public support of Cooper University Health Care. She was eager to spread the word with our readers.
