Say It With Clay Unveils Creations of South Jersey Refugee Children

Artists, teachers, friends and family gathered outside of Say It With Clay in Collingswood to see the final art projects of 14 South Jersey teenage refugees.

After resettling in the area with help from Catholic Charities, the teens were invited to Say It With Clay this summer to build totems featuring elements of their culture to help restore self-esteem and a feeling of belonging in their new community.

The poles have been installed permanently in front of the studio with a plaque that lists their names and the countries they are from.
