Brandy’s back, baby, and she has a full-length studio album – her first in 8 years – to prove it. But why are we talking about the Mississippi-born R&B artist? Her latest album, B7, highlights some South Jersey residents working behind the scenes.

14 of the 15 tracks on the B7 studio album were co-written and produced by Mays Landing resident Darhyl Camper Jr. They first met when he was just a kid (and massive fan) outside a church in Egg Harbor Township, and 18 years later they met again, but this time as a Grammy-winning producer who has worked with singers like Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Keyshia Cole. Songwriters and producers Robert “Big Bert” Smith, a former Egg Harbor resident, and Galloway’s Alonzo “Lonnie” Smalls II also share credits on the album.
