Organizations all over South Jersey are coming out to celebrate and remember the men and women who served our country. This Veterans Day, check out the events happening in your area.

 

Veterans Day Concert

November 9
Spend the evening at the symphony with a free performance of patriotic favorites by The Bay Atlantic Symphony at the Stockton Performing Arts Center. Veterans Day Aboard the Battleship

November 11
Join the Battleship New Jersey in paying respects to veterans with a ceremony featuring remarks by Congressman Donald Norcross and Admiral William J. Fallon. The presentation will also include a bugle performance of the National Anthem and TAPS. The free ceremony begins at 11 am. Veterans can tour the Battleship for free all day. Riverton Veterans Day Ceremony

November 11
The VFW and American Legion will present wreaths at the Veterans Memorial to honor men and women who have served. The ceremony will begin at 10:15 am at Broad and Main Street. For more information, visit the website.

 

Cape May Veterans Day Ceremony

November 11
Remember and honor the men and women who served during Cape May’s ceremony at the All Wars Monument. The event will include presentations from the U.S. Coast Guard Color Guard, Rifle Team and bugler. Start time is 11 am. For more information, visit the website.

 

Free Admission at Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge

November 11
The Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge invites all retired and active duty military to visit the refuge for free. All you have to do is present your ID at the nature center. For more information, visit the website.

 

Free Admission at Grounds For Sculpture

November 11
All active military and veterans are invited to explore the Grounds For Sculpture free. Present ID upon arrival. For more information, visit the website.

 

North Wildwood Veterans Day Service

November 11
The VFW Post 5491 will present a Veteran’s Day ceremony beginning at 10 am at Veteran’s Monument at Spruce and New York Avenues. For more information, call 609-522-5832.

 

Washington Township Veterans Day Service

November 11
Washington Township will host a Veterans Day ceremony beginning at 11 am at the Franklin Atkinson Memorial Park. For more information, call 856-227-4792.

 

Stockton Athletics Veterans Ceremony

November 12
Stockton University Athletics will honor military members and veterans at halftime during the men’s basketball game. Admission is free for all service members, veterans and their families. The game begins at 7 pm in the Sports Center and proceeds from the night will go towards Stockton’s Got Your Six Fund which assists student veterans and military. Veterans Memorial Gala

November 16
Honor those who have served with a night of dinner and dancing during Bordentown’s Veterans Memorial Gala. Honorees include John Lynch Sr., USAF SMSgt. Marguerite Hellwich and Ret. USAF SMSgt. Melvin D. Sylvester. The night begins at 6 pm at Scottish Rite and tickets cost $80 per person. For more information, visit the website.
