This South Jersey Shore Town Just Said No to Smoking on the Boardwalk

Walking over old cigarette butts will soon be a thing of the past for Wildwood’s boardwalk.

City officials voted Wednesday to ban smoking on the boardwalk. That includes ramps and steps leading to and from it and parts of the beach within 10 feet of the boardwalk. It will go into effect on January 1, 2018.

“As one of America’s premier family beach resorts, we want to offer a safe and healthy environment to everyone who visits Wildwood,” said Commissioner Pete Byron.
