Camden County Police Department has unveiled a new gaming truck, where kids – along with police officers – can play the latest family-friendly video games. The truck was purchased with forfeiture money from illegal drug sales and is designed to promote positive interactions between officers and kids, all part of the department’s emphasis on community policing.
“We are always looking for ways to enhance our community policing model, and this truck will be a huge asset for the department,” says Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. “This will be a way that law enforcement and kids in the city can spend time together and build those bonds that are so crucial to a happy and safe community.”
The department plans to bring the truck to the city’s fairs, festivals and open game nights.
