Cocktails at your doorstep

Do you want a beer with your delivery of pizza and wings? How about a few margaritas to wash down your burritos?

Bars, restaurants and liquor stores can now use popular driver delivery services – such as DoorDash, GrubHub and Instacart – to bring booze to your doorstep.

New rules approved by the state’s Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control gave the go-ahead for the delivery services you use for takeout to apply for a permit to deliver alcoholic beverages – including cocktails to go – on behalf of establishments that sell alcoholic drinks. The change was made to help businesses still reeling from the pandemic economy, says Acting Attorney General Matthew Platkin. Cheers to that!
