Some 15 years in the making, the Rutgers D’Light is a new strawberry you’ll want to use the next time you decide to dip the fruit in chocolate. Bred for its flavorful, sweet fruit, its seeds are now available to home gardeners and farmers after years of field testing.
“Rutgers D’Light has a unique balance of sugars, acids and aromatic compounds that will awaken the senses of true strawberry lovers,” says Bill Hlubik of the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES), where the strawberry was developed and thoroughly tested.
