Yoda, Moana, SpongeBob, Dora the Explorer and even Harry Potter are masking up for the public good thanks to Jersey Shore-based artist Gwenn Seemel. When kids started heading back to school with masks in hand, Seemel wanted them to see some of their favorite characters setting a good example. (She thought some adults might benefit from the example too.) So she started drawing brightly colored renditions of iconic characters wearing a blue surgical mask.

“These characters make the perfect vehicle to promote healthy behavior and a sense of civic responsibility during a pandemic,” says Seemel.

Seemel wants to raise awareness for the importance of wearing a mask, and she’s calling on others to join her by drawing their favorite characters in pandemic fashion. So be sure to upload your masked-up drawing with the hashtag #LifesaversFanArt. Followers have already chimed in with Universal’s Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Grinch and Looney Tunes’ Road Runner.
