Clayton’s Aaralyn Anderson has had her fair share of acting roles, especially for an 8-year-old. This month, she hits the silver screen starring alongside Hollywood heavy-hitters in Netflix’s new limited series “Maniac.”
Anderson’s audition for the role was a whirlwind that lasted only two days. It started when her mom received a call one morning from her manager, telling them that Anderson had been directly requested to audition in New York City at 11:45 am.
They rushed to the city for the brief audition. Hours later, Anderson was brought back in for a director’s session, and the next day she had a chemistry read. In the end, her mom was signing paperwork and Anderson was booked – although neither knew what the role was for.
A few days later at Maniac’s first official table read, Anderson’s script cover read “Primary Cast” with three names: Aaralyn Anderson, Jonah Hill, Emma Stone. Anderson plays Belle Milgrim in the dark comedy, which premieres on Sept. 21 and tells the story of an institutionalized man who dreams of a new life in a fantasy world.
