Don’t worry, Toni Farmer isn’t running around killing butterflies. But she is helping Marianne Aleardi plant – and guard – her cabbage and broccoli.

When you’re planting cabbage and broccoli seedlings, remember to…
1. pinch the plant out of the container
2. loosen the roots and soil
3. bury the plant as deep as possible
4. make sure your soil is soaked, it’s going to be a hot summer
