Sculpture Excitement in Haddonfield

April 6 (11 am – 4 pm) | Various Locations

April is a month-long sculpture celebration in Haddonfield. This Saturday, meet sculptor John Giannotti and take a guided walking tour of the town’s sculptures at noon, or grab a map and explore on your own. All that walking might work up an appetite, so at 1 pm join Haddonfield’s On The Town Food Tour, sampling international dishes from Thailand to Great Britain. Plan a (Free) Tree

What better way to bond with Mother Earth than by planting a tree with your family and watching it grow over time. The New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign will be giving away baby trees and seeds throughout all of South Jersey this Sunday. Find out where they’ll be located in your county.

 

First Ladies of Rock and Soul

April 6 (8 – 10 pm)  | The Broadway Theatre of Pitman

Reminisce and have some musical fun as The First Ladies of Rock and Soul pay tribute to the “Girl Group” era. Enjoy classics including “Please Mr. Postman,” “The Locomotion,” and “Dancing in the Streets.” Showtime is 8 pm and tickets cost $35. For more information, visit thebroadwaytheatre.org.

 

Behind the Scenes at Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge

April 6 (1 – 2:30 pm) | Medford

Find out how animals at the Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge hospital are treated as rehab staff discuss what it’s like to work in the busy hospital. The information session is free with admission and runs from 1 to 2:30 pm. Attendees are asked to bring an item from the hospital wish list. Number the Stars Gala at Katz JCC

April 6 (6 – 10 pm) | Haddonfield 

The 20th anniversary of Haddonfield Plays & Players’ annual presentation of “Number the Stars” will be feted with a dinner event and a special show starring alumni cast members at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill. The $55 price includes dinner and the show. Cocktail hour begins at 6 pm. Formal attire is recommended. The gala supports Holocaust education in South Jersey. Vietnam War Living History Day Aboard the Battleship

April 6 (10 am – 3 pm) | Camden

Experience Vietnam War artifacts, re-enactors, veteran interviews and more during the Battleship’s annual Vietnam War Living History Day. All activities are free for guests to experience with the purchase of a Turret II guided tour or a Fire Power audio tour. Have some collectibles of your own? The Battleship welcomes any Vietnam War artifact or military vehicle owner to participate in this annual event.

 

Edelman Planetarium Shows for Kids in South Jersey

April 7 (2 – 2:30 pm) | Rowan University, Glassboro

Your kids will have a blast exploring the sky with Big Bird as the Edelman Planetarium presents “One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure”. Not only will they visit Sesame Street with appearances from Elmo and other favorites – they will also learn about China, constellations and the stars.
