With one weekend left in 2018, we’ve compiled a list of events and activities to cap off the year with a bang.

 

Day Off Adventures
December 27 & 28

Drop the kids at Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge in Medford for a day of fun, including hikes, games, live animals, crafts and more. Activities run from 9 am to 3 pm. The cost is $60 or $50 if you sign up for both days. Advanced registration required. Open to kids grades K through 5. For more information, visit cedarrun.org.

 

Kwanzaa Celebration
December 28

Celebrate Kwanzaa with food and special performances by Poet Sandra Turner-Barnes and Storyteller Queen Nur at Treesy’s Soul Food Cafe in Washington Township. The free event, sponsored South Jersey Young Democrats Black Caucus, runs from 6 pm to 8 pm. Donations are welcome. For more information, visit here.

 

The Rat Pack Returns
December 28

Take a trip back in time as Rat Pack impersonators Tony Sands, Johnny Petillo and Gene Monroe bring the sound of Frank, Dean and Sammy to life at the Broadway Theater in Pitman. Showtime is 8 pm, and tickets cost $25. For more information, visit thebroadwaytheatre.com.

 

Light Show on the Lake
December 28, 29, 30

Over 120 Christmas trees festooned with more than 50,000 Christmas lights magically float on Lake Meone in the center of Historic Smithville. The moment darkness falls, an orchestrated show of lights and music is played out across the lake. This show can be seen from either side of the village as well as the bridge. The light show runs from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. For more information, visit here.

 

Sinbad
December 29

Actor and comedian Sinbad will take the stage of the Levoy Theater in Millville to prove why Comedy Central ranked him as one of the “100 greatest standups of all time.” Sinbad has recently appeared on Disney’s “Planes,” Cartoon Network’s “The Eric Andre Show,” FX Television series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice”. Doors open at 7 pm. Tickets range from $44 to $49. For more information, visit here.

 

End of the Year Hike at Rancocas
December 29

End 2018 by covering some ground. Join a Rancocas Nature Center naturalist for an hour-plus hike in the state park preserve. The hike will begin at 4 pm and end at 6 pm. Dress warm and bring a flashlight. There is no charge for the program, but donations are encouraged. For more information, visit rancocasnaturecenter.org.
