Things to Do in South Jersey this August

Summer’s not over quite yet. So we’re packing this last month of the season with tons of South Jersey fun! 

Antique Fire Apparatus Show

August 4 

Take a look at history with vintage firetrucks and fun at Cooper River Park. The free event runs from 10 am to 3 pm. For more information, visit the website

Baby Parade

August 8 

This might just be the cutest parade you’ve ever seen, so you won’t want to miss it. Babies get dressed up and parents deck out their floats for the 114th Baby Parade (the oldest baby parade in the country). The parade starts at 10:30 am, and travels from 6th to 12th street on the Boardwalk. For more information, visit the website

Collingswood Crafts & Fine Arts Festival

August 17 & 18 

More than 180 artists and crafters, food vendors and nonprofits take to Collingswood’s Haddon Avenue for the annual Crafts & Fine Arts Festival. The festival runs from 10 am to 5 pm each day. For more information, visit the website

Barking Lot Sips & Brews

August 20 

Cheers to our furry best friends with an evening of local brews, live music, cornhole, food trucks and more fun and games at the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees. Plus, try out a free walk-in class for your pup. The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. For more information, visit the website

Women’s Equality Day Festival

August 24 

Celebrate Women’s Equality Day at suffragist Alice Paul’s childhood home, featuring live music, food trucks, lawn games, a beer garden, craft vendors and more. The institute will also offer free museum tours. The festival runs from noon to 3 pm. For more information, visit the website

Wildwoods Restaurant Week

August 25-29 

Close out the summer with some delicious dishes at participating restaurants of Wildwoods Restaurant Week. Select establishments will offer a special 3-course prix-fixe menu for just $40. For a list of the restaurants, visit the website.  

Lighthouse Sunset Fiddle Concert

August 28 

Pack your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers and head to the Absecon Lighthouse for sea shanties and sailor tunes performed by 20 musicians on the lighthouse lawn. The hour-long concert starts at 6 pm. For more information, visit the website
