Halloween Events in South Jersey: Haunted Houses, Parades and Costume Parties

Boo! Halloween is just around the corner, so here are some spooky events and activities to fill the days before the haunting holiday. 

 

Phantoms of the Physick Estate 

Fridays and Saturdays 

Cape May 

Follow a Halloween tale through the rooms of Cape May’s Physick Estate for a truly spooky tour of the historic home. Tickets cost $25 for adults and $20 for children. Tours start each Friday and Saturday at 7 pm or 8:30 pm (Sat., Oct. 14 is sold out). For more information, visit the website.  

 

Haunted Walk 

Oct. 20 & 21

Blackwood 

The haunted house is so yesterday. Explore the haunted grounds of Camden County’s Sustainability Campus during their annual haunted walk. Tickets cost $10 and the event runs from 7 to 10:30 pm each night. Stop by earlier in the day for a kiddie pumpkin patch from 10 am to 1 pm, which costs $10 per child. Howl-O-Ween 

Oct. 21

Ocean City

Doggie Batman? Puppy Pacino? Doggos are putting on their best looks for Ocean City’s doggy Halloween parade. The parade begins at 3 pm (registration at 2 pm) at 6th St. and the Boardwalk. For more information, visit the website

 

Haunted Hayride

Oct. 21

Collingswood

Sit back, (don’t) relax and enjoy a trip around a haunted Knights Park. For more information, visit the website

 

Owl-O-Ween 

Oct. 21

Medford 

It’s a Halloween afternoon at Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge with a Halloween movie, trick-or-treating, a costume contest, games, food and more – so grab your costume. The event runs from 4 to 7 pm. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $12 for children ages 4-12, and children 3 and under are free. For more information, visit the website.  

 

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Oct. 27 

Haddon Heights 

Get in the spooky spirit (and get ready for Christmas) with a showing of The Nightmare Before Christmas at Haddon Lake Park. The movie begins at 7 pm and is free. For more information, visit the website

 

Monster Bash & Witches Day Out

Oct. 28 & 29 

Smithville 

The creatures have come to play. Visit Historic Smithville’s Monster Bash and Witches Day Out for vendors, live music and a costume contest on Saturday and a scavenger hunt, raffle and parade on Sunday. (Make sure you wear your witch costume for Witches Day Out!) The Monster Bash starts at 10 am, and Witches Day Out runs from noon to 5 pm. For more information, visit the website

 

Spooktacular Halloween Party

Oct. 29

Maple Shade 

Find fun for the entire family with bowling specials, a costume contest and a dance contest during Laurel Lanes’ Spooktacular Halloween Party. Reservations are required, and the event runs from noon to 2:30 pm. For more information, visit the website.
