Cost: $10 per child
Start the weekend early with a little outdoor science fun at the Rancocas Nature Center. The 2-hour program includes hands-on experiences like hikes, observations and STEM experiments.
Go birding
Where: Barnegat Light State Park
When: Saturday, February 5, 9 am – 2 pm
Cost: $20 Members, $25 Non-members
Head to Barnegat Lighthouse State Park to catch a glimpse of loons, gannets, Harlequins and other sea ducks on a guided birding adventure with New Jersey Audubon. Don’t forget your binoculars!
Grounds For Sculpture night forms
When: Friday, Feb 4 – Sunday, Feb 7, 5-11 pm
Where: Hammonton
Go to Grounds For Sculpture after dark to see Night Forms. The exhibit features video projections, light and sounds that illuminate more than a dozen of the museum’s existing works of sculpture. You can also warm up by exploring indoor galleries or grab dinner at the Van Gogh Café.

Where: Cherry Hill
Cost: $7.50 for adults, $5.50 for kids 5-12 and for veterans.
WinterFest is a festive 60-foot by 120-foot ice rink set up at Cooper River Park through Feb. 21. Don your skates (or rent them), do pirouettes on ice or just enjoy the fire pits, s’mores, funnel cakes and hot chocolate available for purchase in the lodge. Located across from the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, WinterFest is weather dependent.

Stroll through “Looking Up,” the Perkins Center for the Arts’ annual juried show. Now in its 41st year, the exhibit’s top 3 photographs will be selected by the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s curator of photographs. The show runs through Feb. 25.
