We’re ready for some nature! And what better way to start than by exploring Palmyra Cove Nature Park?
Don’t believe us? We’ll prove it.
Baby falcons
It’s just about that time of the year when the falcons at Palmyra Cove Nature Park lay eggs, and we’ll have a chance to catch a glimpse of baby falcons. Before hitting the nature park’s trails, check out the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge falcon box to see the adult falcons and watch for any babies that might be exploring the park in their first weeks.
Environmental STEM Center
Get your hands on some science with the park’s 2,000-square-foot STEM Center, featuring exhibits like a virtual reality set-up that lets you visit sites including the depths of the ocean and the Apollo 11 landing site, learn how satellites see the world and even contribute to scientific research with a Citizen Science program.
Walking & waterways & wildlife, oh my
Ok, so this reason is actually about 100 rolled into one – but Palmyra Cove’s miles of trails, handful of ponds and variety of wildlife make this park a must-see destination. Follow the Cove trail along the Delaware River for a sandy stroll with views of the Tacony-Palmyra bridge. And peel off along the Saw Whet Trail to the Beaver Pond Trail for a chance to see some adorable beavers milling about. And no matter what trail you choose, always keep an eye on the skies for some prime birdwatching.
The boardwalk
No, not that boardwalk. This one’s much more peaceful. Head to the end of the Cove Trail to find the boardwalk, a bridge that stretches across the water where the Delaware River meets Palmyra Cove. And from the bridge, you can admire gorgeous views across the Cove and maybe catch some migrating birds resting from their travels.
