Happy Halloween! (Almost.) Check out these South Jersey events to celebrate the spookiest time of year.
Oct. 17 & 18, 24 & 25
Historic Cold Spring Village transforms into a haunted historic destination with a not-so-scary section for little ones and a dare-you-to-enter haunted trail for older visitors. Plus, local vendors, crafters and more. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under and free for HCSV members. The event runs from 5:30 to 9 pm each night.
Thriller Chiller Wine Glass Painting
Oct. 18
Decorate your own spooky wine glasses – while you sip some wine – at Grounds For Sculpture. Choose a design to follow or get creative with your own. Costumes are welcome (and optional). The event costs $40 for members and $45 for non-members. The event runs from 3 to 4:30 pm.
Oct. 18
Celebrate your witchy side with an evening of costumes, live music, performers, tarot card readers, food vendors and more. The free event runs from 4 to 10 pm at Mill Race Village.
Oct. 25
Dress in your best costume for an afternoon of trick-or-treating at WheatonArts, featuring traditional costumed characters, glassmaking demos, family art activities and more. The free event runs from 1 to 4 pm.
Oct. 25
Fit in a skate session with your costume at the Ocean City Skate Park at 5th St. and Asbury Avenue from 4 pm to dusk. There will be prizes for best costume and best trick, and candy for participants.
Oct. 25
Head to olde New Jersey Ave. in Wildwood for a Halloween celebration following trunk-or-treat. All automobiles must be registered to give out candy, and prizes will be awarded for best decorated vehicles. The events run from 5:30 to 7 pm.
Oct. 25 & 26
Monsters and witches alike are heading to Historic Smithville for a weekend of spooky celebrating, featuring live music, a scavenger hunt, pumpkin carving, prizes, a parade and more family fun. Plus, the village’s shops and restaurants will be open. The Monster Bash runs from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and Witches Day Out runs from noon to 5 pm on Sunday.
Oct. 28
Get your trick-or-treating in a little early with Sewell’s trunk-or-treat event, starting at 5:30 pm at 630 Delsea Drive.
Oct. 24
Grab your costumes and trick-or-treat outside of the East Gate Square Chick-fil-A with treats, music and fun for the whole family. The free event runs from 5 to 8 pm.
Oct. 31
Get grooving to kick off your Halloween with this music class for children ages 0 to 3.5 at Perkins Center for the Arts in Moorestown. The class features Halloween-themed songs and interactive activities, and runs from 10 am to 10:45 am. Cost is $22.
