The Special Olympics New Jersey Summer Games will begin this Friday, June 9. To kick off the state-wide competition, hundreds of police departments will come together for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Officers, friends and families will participate in 26 separate legs of the run across the state on Friday. Runs begin as early as 5:45 am and as late as 6 pm; a full schedule of the South Jersey runs is available below.
Spectators are invited to watch runners carry the “Flame of Hope” through the community and watch the final leg during the opening ceremony, beginning at 7:30 pm at the College of New Jersey.
