It’s pretty obvious why we love Michel Sproles. Yes, she’s an Eagles wife, but that is just one of the many reasons why we can’t get enough of this strong woman.

Happy Breast Cancer Awareness Month!!! October will always be a special month for me… Oct. 27, 2012 I underwent a Bilateral Mastectomy after being diagnosed with Stage 0 Breast Cancer. Although most would consider that an aggressive choice of treatment for such an early stage I did what I thought was best for me. I appreciate all those who were supportive of me during that difficult time. Special thanks to my mentors #ChristinaApplegate and @boldandbreastless who kept me encouraged. I can't forget my wonderful husband who makes me feel beautiful no matter what, and all my family and friends who were and are still so supportive of me. And to all my BC Sisters who are still in the fight and have conquered the fight continue to press forward, stay faithful, and educate others. #Survivor #BreastCancerAwareness #ThePinkLine

She’s an inspiration

Sproles was diagnosed with Stage 0 breast cancer in 2012. On October 27 of that same year, she made the brave decision to undergo a bilateral mastectomy. “I did what I thought was best for me,” she wrote in an Instagram post commemorating the day. Since then, she has worked on several platforms to educate people about the disease and support women who suffer from the cancer.

A.D.D.Y.S… Age Doesn't Define Your Status… I launched this campaign 2 years ago as a way to educate and inform Black Women under the age of 40 about Breast Cancer and other diseases that are affecting our community at an alarming rate as a result of negligence on our part and simply being uneducated about what's affecting us. Breast Cancer is one of the most common cancers in our community. While incident rates are lower, African-American women suffer significantly higher mortality rates; 41% higher than their caucasian counterparts. This alarming fact is the result of compounding social, cultural, financial & geographical barriers. I encourage you all to follow your gut instinct and stay vigilant in your health. ——————————————– Thank you @thebrandgroup for helping me gather an incredible group of young women to get the message out about breast cancer affecting young black women in our community… I appreciate all these beautiful ladies with such great influence for donating their time and participating in such an amazing cause and bringing my vision to life… cc: @itsravaughn @emilyb_ @missdiddyla @boldandbreastless @evamarcille @itsmeelah

The Pink Line campaign

One of Sproles’ platforms for breast cancer awareness is The Pink Line, which is an effort to educate young African-American women about the disease. Part of the proceeds from the foundation also go toward providing free wigs to breast cancer survivors undergoing chemotherapy.
