There are a lot of people worried about whether Carson Wentz will be ready for week one of the regular season. I’m not. The team has Nick Foles. He’s the reigning Super Bowl MVP.
I think there should be much more concern about the one starting player we know will miss the first game of the year against the Atlanta Falcons: linebacker and tackling machine Nigel Bradham.
He is suspended for week one under the league personal conduct policy.
In 2017, Bradham was the team’s most consistent linebacker. And with Mychal Kendricks released and Jordan Hicks coming back from injury, the Eagles have a major question mark at linebacker — especially against the run. And the Falcons can run the football and have revenge in the heart, looking to bounce back in Philly after the Eagles bounced them out of the playoffs in January at the Linc.
Without Bradham, the Falcons game will be a major adjustment and test for the Eagles defense.
