Strange & Brilliant
This inventor/TikToker/Eagles wife loves all things weird

Daisy Foko Granson is the kind of person who actually follows through on the wild ideas most of us abandon halfway through a shower thought.

She’s an inventor with 2 patents to her name and more pending, not to mention a content creator with nearly 900k TikTok followers who tune in for her strange, brilliant mix of weird facts, historical deep dives and science tangents.

Oh, and she just so happens to be married to Philadelphia Eagles tight end Kylen Granson.

Foko Granson grew up surrounded by invention. Her father is a scientist, mathematician, attorney and inventor. Their family garage was an endless source of curiosity, cluttered with tools, scraps and half-finished experiments.

“He’d always say, ‘If you ever have an idea, you should try to make it,’” Foko Granson says.

By 16, she was experimenting with renewable materials and civil-engineering concepts. That curiosity led her toward patent illustration – a highly technical field that demands precision.

“From about 15 to 25, I was the person people came to for patent illustrations,” she says. “My dad would tell people, ‘I’ve got an illustrator who’s been using Adobe Suite since she was 8. None of her drawings have ever been rejected by the patent board.’”

That decade of experience taught her how to think like an engineer and how to build ideas that could survive the scrutiny of the U.S. Patent Office.

One of her approved patents is for a THC lipstick – a discreet, child-safe design that can also house CBD. Another patent, focused on ACL repair, is awaiting review, while several more are in progress.

Her journey into social media was far less deliberate.

“My best friend Tiva peer-pressured me into it,” Foko Granson says. “I finally gave in – and blew up within a week.”

At the time, she was working at a car dealership, happier explaining the engineering of cars than selling them. Her first TikToks were random jokes and memes, but one storytime about a speeding ticket went viral overnight.

“I woke up to millions of views,” she says.

What began as a lighthearted experiment soon became an outlet for her curiosity. She has always been drawn to storytelling, and once she ran out of personal anecdotes, she turned to history – a subject she’d loved since working as a high school teaching assistant.

“People think history’s boring because they only hear dates and timelines,” Foko Granson says. “But it’s really just old drama. If you tell it right, it’s fascinating.”

Her content evolved into a blend of weird historical tales, scientific oddities and the occasional philosophical reflection – all told in her unpretentious, humorous voice.

“I’m kind of a sponge for weird facts,” she says. “And it turns out people like learning them with me.”

Yet behind the charm and humor, Foko Granson’s relationship with social media has also been deeply personal. She started posting during one of the hardest periods of her life.

“I was really depressed at the time,” she says. “I’ve been diagnosed with complex PTSD, and I was learning how to manage it. Getting on TikTok gave me a sense of purpose and community.”

That doesn’t mean it’s easy. Over the past year, as she’s shared more of her personal life, she has noticed a shift in her audience.

“People comment on how I look now, which they didn’t before,” she says. “That can be stressful, but I’ve always focused on being a fun, interesting person. You can’t be everybody’s flavor. I’m like pistachio – some people love it, some don’t, and that’s fine.”

Her story isn’t just about algorithms and innovation, though – it’s also about love. Her and Kylen Granson’s relationship began, fittingly, online.

“We met on Tinder in college – he Super Liked me, and I Super Liked him back,” she says.

They were supposed to see “Avengers: Endgame” for their first date, but she had to postpone when her brother landed an early-start internship in New York studying oysters, and her mom asked her to drive cross country with him so that he wouldn’t have to go alone.

“I told Kylen, ‘My brother has to save the oysters,’ and he thought I was making it up,” she says. “But we talked on FaceTime every day while I was gone. By the time we met in person, we were already in love.”

Her marriage to Kylen last summer, fittingly, reflected her fascination with science and wonder. They wed at Chicago’s Field Museum, beneath the towering skeleton of a titanosaur, with YA author John Green officiating.

“It fit the vibe,” she says. “I’ve always loved places where you can feel small in the best possible way – surrounded by discovery.”

After 4 seasons with the Colts, the pair showed up in Philadelphia at the beginning of this season, ready to prove themselves to this city and its fanbase.

“I love Philly,” she says. “It’s got moxie, and I respect that. The fans are passionate – I think they’re doing sports right.”

As her platform and personal life grew, Foko Granson became more aware of how the public perceives women like her – the  “WAGs,” or wives and girlfriends, of athletes.

“There’s still that gold-digger stereotype,” she says. “It’s been around forever, but it’s outdated. People also see us as accessories, which is so far from reality.”

She’s quick to defend the women she’s met through the NFL.

“They’re incredible – models who know biomedical tech because they used to be nurses, stay-at-home moms who own construction companies. They’re smart, creative, kind. When you take away financial stress, people can just be generous – not catty, like people assume.”

Beyond invention, she plans to keep building her creative brand – and maybe start a family in the coming years.

“At the end of the day, I’m just trying to have fun, stay curious and make cool stuff,” says Foko Granson. “Everything else kind of falls into place after that.”
