South Jersey’s Wounded Veterans Get Their Own Parking Spots

We’re all accustomed to blue parking spots with signs designating the space for disabled drivers, but a new set of parking spots – these are purple – are making their way across the country, including parking lots in South Jersey.

The new spots are reserved for veterans who were wounded in combat. The Wounded Warriors Family Support (WWFS), an off-shoot of the Wounded Warrior Projects, offers signs to any interested businesses or municipalities. There’s no cost to receive the sign from WWFS, although the nonprofit does ask for a donation to cover shipping costs. So far, hundreds of signs have been mailed to companies across the nation.
