If scenes from the recently released movie “Wetlands” look familiar, that’s because the film was shot in SJ Shore towns, including Atlantic City and Wildwood.

The movie takes a fark look at a troubled Philadelphia police officer (played by up-and-coming actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) trying to reconnect with his estranged wife (played by seasoned actress Heather Graham). The director, Emanuelle Della Valle, owns a home in Stone Harbor and says the “desolate” environment of the Shore in the winter provided the perfect setting for the gritty film.

During the writing process for Wetlands, Della Valle went on ride-alongs with AC police officers, befriended surfers in Ocean City and even treated his cast and crew to lunch from Atlantic City’s legendary White House Subs.
