Due to the location of five Jersey Shore bridges, the installation of EZ Pass systems has been pushed back.

Originally, five bridges along Ocean Drive were supposed to have functioning EZ Pass systems by June 1. However, the bridges’ exposure to the surrounding Atlantic Ocean environment means the installation is more complicated than usual, North Wildwood Mayor Patrick Rosanello told KYW Newsradio.

The EZ Pass systems will be phased in this summer, with hopes of completion by August.

Discussions of a toll hike are also delayed until data about usage of the systems can be collected.
