South Jersey Beach Tags Go Digital – Kind Of

Haven’t gotten your beach tags yet? Purchasing and picking them up will be a lot easier this year.

Thanks to a new app called “Viply,” beach tags can be bought on the app and then picked up later at a designated location.

Last year, Manasquan, Seaside Heights, Sea Isle City, Longport and Ventnor were reported as the first few beaches to make the digital shift. Now, more towns are following suit, including Avalon and Stone Harbor.

While beach goers will still have to pin their tags to their chairs or bags, the app could open doors for electronic badges that can be scanned off smartphones.
