Moorestown Gets a New Park for Its Four-Legged Residents

A long-awaited attraction for man’s best friend is coming to Moorestown. Construction has begun on a dog park set to open in late spring or early summer of 2017.

While only some concrete paths stand now, the park will include a pavilion with picnic tables, parking, drinking fountains for dogs and people, and two fenced dog runs – one sixth-tenths of an acre for small dogs and one nine-tenths of an acre for large dogs. The three-acre space takes up a small piece of Swede Run Fields, a 39-acre area of trails on Westfield Road.

The park, which will cost $353,619, will be partially funded by a $250,000 open space development grant from Burlington County.
