Rutgers Launches Mental Health Hotline for Nurses

More than a year and a half into the pandemic, frontline caregivers are still dealing with the devastation of Covid-19 cases. For nurses, who experienced high burnout rates even before the virus’s arrival, a new, confidential hotline provides unique support – fellow nurses trained in mental health are at the other end of the line.

Called Nurse2Nurse, the help line – 844-687-7301 – is based at Rutgers Behavioral Health Services and is available to nurses and their family members weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm. The center also offers virtual support groups, wellness webinars and other resources at nurse2nursenj.com.

“As nurses, it can be hard to share what’s going on with us, so we keep it on the inside,” says Barbara Brilliantine, RN, a Nurse2Nurse peer counselor.
