We always knew the BB&T Pavilion drew massive crowds for shows – and now the venue has earned worldwide recognition for its ticket sales.

Pollstar magazine, the leading trade publication of  the concert industry, named Camden’s BB&T Pavilion the No. 2 amphitheater for worldwide ticket sales in 2018. According to Pollstar, the venue sold 505,287 tickets between Nov. 23, 2017 and Nov. 21, 2018. Topping the list was an Indiana-based venue with 588,023 tickets.

Give yourselves a round of applause, concertgoers. South Jersey officially rocks.

The year-round facility, which sits adjacent to the Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial and Adventure Aquarium, serves as a 25,000 capacity outdoor amphitheater during the summer months.

The 2018 concert lineup included blockbuster acts, such as Imagine Dragons, Kesha, Ozzy Osbourne, Counting Crows and Foo Fighters. The upcoming 2019 summer lineup sizzles as well, with WMMR’s MMRBQ, Shinedown, Slayer, Hootie and the Blowfish, among others.  Some of the most popular shows have included Ozzfest, The Who, Pearl Jam, Aerosmith, Metallica, Jimmy Buffett, Dave Matthews Band, and Phish.

Two venues across the river were also ranked tops in their categories in Pollstar‘s year-end awards. Wells Fargo Center ranked No. 9 in the top arena venues category and the Academy of Music ranked No. 25 out of the top 200 theaters in the world.
