It might be hard to believe that long ago, Battleship New Jersey had its own pool. Well, kind of.

During the Vietnam War,  Captain J. Edward Snyder converted two gun tubs into pools for the crew. The ship’s current staff decided to install their own pool in honor of the 50th anniversary of the battleship’s Vietnam reactivation and Capt. Snyder’s photo.

The staff had a bit of fun with the cool project, with Battleship Chairman of the Board Steve Sheehan taking a dip in the pool. Guests can check out the pool during the Fire Power tour of the ship – and can even show up in their bathings suits and dive in too! The exhibit is temporary, so check it out while it lasts.
