Waterfront property that used to house the Camden Riversharks’ home field will once again be a gathering place for elite athletes and their fans. The Camden Athletic Complex, which opened last month, is a new sports hub that will be used by both Camden youth and Rutgers University-Camden athletes. The $16 million investment, funded by Camden County, the Rowan University-Rutgers Camden Board of Governors and Rutgers-Camden, provides fields for soccer, lacrosse, baseball, track, pole vault and steeplechase. There is new lighting for night events and locker rooms that include restrooms and training areas.
