It’s back, and it’s better than ever!
After the tough task of tasting, shopping and exploring everything SJ towns have to offer, we’ve put together our annual jam-packed list of ALL THAT’S WONDERFUL and amazing in south jersey.
Read it, tweet it, share it – and then go see for yourself just how awesome these SJ spots truly are!
Milkshake lovers unite every Thursday at The Pop Shop, where triple-thick shakes are just $2.99 and deluxe shakes $3.99. And these aren’t just any old milkshakes – flavors include Snickers bar, chocolate turtle, peppermint twist and shakin’ bacon.
There’s a reason why we chose Penza’s fruit pies for this issue’s cover – they taste even more amazing than they look (and that’s saying a lot!). The pies at this South Jersey gem come bulging with ripe Jersey fruit that’s bursting with flavors. And that crust? Unbelievable would be an understatement.

The planetarium’s 16-inch telescope is available for use during free open house nights, which occur once a month during Rowan University’s semesters. Starting 30 minutes before sunset, guests will take a tour of the night sky, then check out the stars from the fourth-floor observatory.
Turn that Pinterest inspiration into reality at Creek Mercantile. This quaint shop in Rancocas Woods is filled with tons of vintage, handmade and architectural salvage pieces to decorate your home and garden. There’s always something new in stock, so there’s never a shortage of special finds.
The foodies on your list will flip for the gourmet gifts from Cheese Etc. No matter the occasion, you can’t go wrong with a basket full of homemade cheese spreads, nuts, crackers and chocolates.
This is one reservation you don’t want to miss. Grab six to 12 of your friends and enjoy a five-course meal prepared by Chef Nunzio Patruno himself, while you sit in the kitchen and watch all the magic happen.
These handmade soaps, candles, body scrubs and more are exactly what your mom wants. Each item is made with ethically sourced ingredients, and everything smells as good as it looks. (Don’t miss the oatmeal, milk and honey soap bar!)
Wheatonarts is known for housing expert glassblowers and crafters, but now you can share the magic with someone special. The gift shop offers spectacular ornaments, jewelry, paperweights and home décor handcrafted by wheatonarts’ very own resident artists.
A bride and groom’s first dance is a big deal, and Collingswood Grand Ballroom knows how to set the stage. The expansive dance floor is right in the middle of the beautiful room, so couples know all eyes will be on them.
These desserts might be small in size, but they’re big in flavor. You’ll find sweet little treats like chocolate-dipped maraschino cherries, banana split bites and brownie batter truffles – and they’ll keep you coming back for more.
If it’s cool, odd or intriguing, chances are Retro Station sells it. We’re talking tons of retro comics, posters, records and 8-tracks, toys and pop-culture memorabilia. You can even buy an ice-cold, glass-bottled Coca-Cola from the old-school cooler on the front porch (that alone makes this place worth a visit).
