Summer may be winding down, but our gardens are really heating up. (Plus, it’s time to get started on Fall gardening!)
Harvest, harvest, harvest. This is prime time for your summer crops, so get ready to try tons of recipes with your Jersey fresh foods.
Troubleshoot your summer crops. If you see any harmful insects, take care of them to keep your crops healthy.
Keep up the watering. There’s a good chance we might have a few heat waves through the end of August into September, so make sure you continue to check your soil and make sure your crops are getting enough water.
Still look out for blight on your tomatoes. Cut off extra leaves to prevent mildew and blight, and if you see any blight cut out the infected leaves asap.
It’s fall gardening time! Remember those fall seeds you started inside last month? (spinach, beets, kale) It’s time to transplant those into your planters.
Reapply your biostimulant if you used one earlier this gardening season.
