And not only is exercise good for your body, it’s also good for your mind. Get up and get moving with these South Jersey senior fitness programs.

Katz JCC Adult Activities

The Katz JCC calendar is always packed with classes designed especially for seniors. Options range from armchair yoga to table tennis. You can also take the pressure off your joints and dive into one of the facility’s many water aerobic classes.

Line Dancing & Chair Yoga
Collingswood Community Center
30 West Collings Avenue, Collingswood
Put on your dancing shoes and head to the Collingswood Community Center for an afternoon of dancing, or stretch your mind, body and soul with chair yoga. The center offers line dancing Friday afternoons and chair yoga Tuesday mornings.

Low-Impact Aerobics
Mount Laurel Community Center

Join fellow South Jersey seniors for some blood-pumping fun in one of Mount Laurel Community Center’s aerobic classes. If that’s not your speed, you can grab a yoga or Zumba class.

Tai Chi
Glassboro Senior Citizen Center

Get in touch with your defensive side with Tai Chi classes at the Glassboro Senior Citizen Center. The center also offers classes in weight training, general physical fitness and more.

Cardio Fun with Emelia
Mabel Kay Senior Center
24 Walnut Street, Haddonfield
This class will keep you on your toes. Exercise all skills like core, strength and flexibility. The class is offered Mondays at 11:30 am and Thursdays at noon.

Water Exercise
Aquatic & Fitness Center
1735 Simpson Avenue, Ocean City
Take a dip while getting a satisfying workout. Exercising in the water strengthens flexibility, circulation and tone. It’s also less stressful on joints. Classes are held Monday through Friday at 11 am and 1 pm, Saturday and Sunday at 12:15pm, and Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 pm.
