Newly minted Rutgers-Camden graduate Sarah Filippi-Field is heading to Germany to study public policy on a full-ride, prestigious scholarship.
Filippi-Field, who left Rutgers with a perfect 4.0 GPA, has earned a German Academic Exchange Service scholarship. The nationally completive award funds her pursuit of a Master of Public Policy degree at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt.
“There are people throughout South Jersey working in their own silos, so it has been amazing to help foster these collaborations,” says Filippi-Field, who is also a volunteer and vice-president of the American Vegan Society in Malaga. She hopes the experience abroad will show a “new lens for understanding” SJ communities.
“Sarah competed against her peers from across all Rutgers campuses,” says Laura Collins, assistant dean of the Rutgers- Camden Honors College. “She then competed against a national pool of applicants to earn her award. It’s an incredible achievement.”
