Unique Date Night Ideas for Couples in South Jersey this December

Don’t let date night get boring. Here are some activities to try when you want to wow your date in South Jersey.

Spice up your classic date night

Sure, trying a new restaurant can be stressful – will the food be good, how’s the ambiance, do we really have to leave the house in this weather? While we can’t help you with the freezing temperatures, our South Jersey Dining Guide can help you find a new place to try some eats when you’re feeling date night has become a bit stale.

Art in the dark

Exploring the larger than life sculptures at Grounds For Sculpture always makes for a fun excursion, but the park is shining an extra-bright light on art with its Night Forms exhibit. The outdoor, after-hours exhibit displays a variety of multi-sensory light and sound pieces for a truly unique art experience. Tickets are required, and the exhibit is open Fridays through Sundays from sunset to 10 pm. For more information, visit the website.

Skate into love

Reenact that romantic scene on the ice from any of those cheesy holiday movies you love – but in a super cool way – on the rink at Camden County’s Winterfest. Complete with skate rentals, food vendors and festive decorations, Winterfest is open Thursday through Sunday. For more information and a full schedule, visit the website

Visit the stars

Keep warm while watching the stars at one of Rowan University Edelman Planetarium’s many shows. Dating a Swiftie? Check out Laser Taylor Swift. In the holiday spirit? Laser Holiday Magic. And if you want to opt for the classic starry experience, check out the winter stargazing show. Plus, on Dec. 19, the planetarium is hosting its observatory open house, where visitors can look at the night sky through telescopes. For more information and a full schedule, visit the website

Get up-close with wildlife

Usually, third wheeling on a date night can be kind of awkward, but we’d let the adorable creatures at Adventure Aquarium third wheel anytime. The aquarium has a number of special wildlife encounters to choose from – like meeting the hippos and visiting penguins or feeding the sea turtles – that you’ll be sure to find the perfect date for everyone. For encounter details and tickets, visit the website
