South Jersey Fall Festivities you need to check out

Summer’s coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. Stop by these South Jersey fall activities for some festive fun. 

Harvest Brew Fest

September 14 

Spend the day celebrating your fall favorites in Cape May during Harvest Brew Fest at the Emlen Physick Estate. The free festival runs from 10 am to 5 pm, with food and beverage vendors, live entertainment (did someone say magic show?) and local craft vendors. For more information, visit the website

Haddon Township Fall Fest

September 14 

Games and rides and a wing eating contest – oh my! The Haddon Township Fall Fest brings loads of fun to West Park Boulevard with artisans and crafters, special character visits, live music, kids’ entertainment and so much more from noon to 6 pm. Plus, the Jam Fest at Crystal Lake Pool Complex runs from noon to 9 pm with food trucks, music, ping-pong, cornhole and more. For more information, visit the website

Cornhole Tournament

September 14 

Put your skills – cornhole skills, that is – to work aboard the country’s most-decorated Battleship. Teams will compete in a round robin tournament for a cash prize, and a free tour of the Battleship is included with each player’s registration. Seafood Festival

September 14 & 15 

There’s no such thing as too much seafood, so we’re heading down the Shore once again for plenty of tasty seafood, cooking demonstrations, a chowder cook-off and more at the Downbeach Seafood Festival. The festival runs at Ventnor’s Ski Beach from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday. Tickets cost $10 in advance and $15 day of (children 12 and under are free). Medford Oktoberfest

September 20 & 21 

Head to Medford’s biggest party of the year at Freedom Park, featuring kids’ activities, German dancing, cornhole tournament, trivia, Medford breweries, German foods and live music. The free festival runs from 5 to 9 pm on Friday and 1 to 9 pm on Saturday. For more information, visit the website

Autumn with the Animals Festival

September 22 

Get wild with a day packed with wildlife programs, live music, canoeing, food, campfires, games and more at Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge’s Autumn with the Animals Festival. The event runs from 10 am to 3 pm. Tickets cost $13 for adults ($15 day of) and $10 for children ages 4-12 ($12 day of). For more information, visit the website

Oktoberfest

October 5 & 6 

Dive into fun with an international food court, kids’ activities, live music, paddle boats, antique arcades, crafters and so much more at Historic Smithville’s Oktoberfest. The free festival runs from 10 am to 5 pm both days. For more information, visit the website

Pumpkin Festival 

October 14 

Pumpkin season is here, and Lower Township is following suit with its annual Pumpkin Festival at Historic Cold Spring Village. Check out fun for the entire family, including hayrides, pumpkin painting, a Halloween parade, haunted barn, vendors, food and more. The free festival runs from 10 am to 4 pm.
