7 South Jersey lakes & campsites to explore

This summer, we’re getting closer to nature – literally. Here’s a list of some campsites and lakes that the whole family will love to explore.  

 

Atsion Lake Cabins

In Wharton State Forest

Hammonton 

9 furnished cabins with screened porch, fireplace, outdoor campfire rings, refrigerator, hot and cold running water, bathroom with toilet and shower, single beds. All cabins are designed for people with disabilities.

Godfrey Bridge

In Wharton State Forest

Hammonton 

34 tent and trailer sites, water, picnic tables, fire rings and pit toilets. Pet friendly campsites available. 

Campsites open all year.

King Nummy Trail Campground 

Cape May Court House 

RV campsites with amenities including a swimming pool, laundry facilities, a picnic area, shuffleboard, restroom with shower facilities and more. 

Open through Oct. 31.

Brendan T. Byrne State Forest 

Woodland Township

82 tent and trailer sites each with fire rings, picnic tables and lantern hooks; flush toilets, showers within walking distance. Select campsites designated pet-friendly for an additional charge. 

Campsites open year round.

Parvin State Park Campsites

Pittsgrove

54 tent and trailer sites on the south shore of Parvin Lake; each campsite features a fire ring, picnic table, lantern hook and a playground nearby; flush toilets and showers within walking distance; facilities accessible for people with disabilities.

Chestnut Lake Campgrounds

Port Republic 

RV campsites with amenities including a swimming pool, playground, mini golf, restroom with shower facilities, picnic area, volleyball and more.

Bass River State Forest Campground

Tuckerton 

176 tent and trailer sites with fire rings and picnic tables; flush toilets, showers and laundry facilities are within walking distance. Select campsites are pet-friendly.
