He might not have brought home gold this summer, but Olympic wrestler Jordan Burroughs is winning big in South Jersey.
Officials from Winslow Township High School announced they would name their gymnasium for the Olympic athlete, and the school will commemorate the occasion with an unveiling ceremony on September 24. Burroughs graduated from the high school in 2006.
Burroughs thanked his alma mater on Twitter, remembering, “…10 years ago I cruised the hallways of Winslow Township High School in Atco, NJ dreaming that one day I would become a state champion and have a banner with my name hung high in our wrestling room.”

Even recently, Burroughs was using the gym that will now bear his name – he worked out with the Winslow wrestling team over the school’s winter break this past year.
