South Jersey Toasts Carson Wentz with a New Brew

Eagles fans seem to have it all these days: A team on the rise, a champion quarterback and now, a beer to boost their fandom game. Today, fans can toast the birds with a cold “Wentzstefaner.”

South Jersey master-brewer Vince Masciandaro decided to brew a new beer inspired by Eagles’ quarterback Carson Wentz. He debuted the “Wentzstefaner” at his brewery, Village Idiot Brewing Company, on Sunday.

The idea struck Masciandaro after Wentz was reported having a Weihenstephaner the night before the Eagles’ win over the Steelers back in September. Brewing began that Saturday – a twist on the brewery’s version of a traditional German wheat beer – but since the beverage takes several weeks to ferment, it was just released this weekend.

Some fans even enjoyed a glass during the game on Sunday:

Wentz hasn’t responded to the beer, but many fans are hoping he’ll stop by for a drink before the next big game.
