Rubino Service Company

Rubino Service Company has been making homes more comfortable, safe and energy-efficient for more than 40 years. But upholding the Rubino name and maintaining the company’s ongoing dedication to outstanding customer service is much more than just a job for Angela Rubino Hines – it’s also ensuring her father’s legacy lives on.

IMG_7415“My father started the business in 1975, and I saw how hard he worked to grow it. I started answering the phones and scheduling calls for him back when I was in sixth or seventh grade,” says Hines. “I had always thought about eventually taking over the business, but when he got very ill, I was thrown into the fire. From that point on, it was up to me to ensure that the company maintained its good name and put forth quality work.”

That approach means the highly trained Rubino team always serves customers with the care and respect they deserve, providing heating and air conditioning repair, maintenance, service and installation, explains Hines, who has served as the company’s owner and president since 2005.

“We treat all of our customers like family. We aim to keep them informed about the choices available to them, just as we would our own family members,” she says.

“Education is a big part of what we do – we want to provide customers with the products and services that are best suited to their home and add value to their residences. They are the ones who live in their homes every day, so we want them to be comfortable and save them money.”

“When we outfit your home with HVAC equipment, we bring more than a tape measure,” Hines adds. “Systems are properly sized for your home by looking at things such as attics, insulation levels, basements and ceiling height. Besides selecting a properly sized system, we also look at things like budget, energy bills, and hot and cold spots in the house to ensure you have the ideal solution for your home.”

Rubino’s thorough approach extends to the company’s maintenance plans, as well as emergency service, says Hines. “Maintaining your HVAC systems is essential to keeping them running properly. We offer affordable service plans that include parts and repairs, along with bi-annual check-ups of your equipment so it can continue to operate at peak levels. We also understand that emergencies sometimes happen, so we have service technicians and dispatchers working after hours for emergency calls – and we don’t charge overtime fees until 8 pm.”

And while Rubino Service Company has been a trusted HVAC provider for decades, that’s not all the company does.

“Over the years, our scope of services has expanded from heating and air conditioning to including indoor air quality, home energy audits, plumbing and electrical,” says Hines. “We have become a one-stop shop for homeowners. We make sure our customers have a name they can trust for all their home needs.”

“We hire, train, motivate and reward our team members based on their integrity, responsibility and their commitment,” adds Hines. “Our technicians perform high-quality service with enthusiasm and a willingness to go above and beyond for our customers.”

Rubino Service Company also supports Energy Star-labeled products and is a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer.

“Only the most dedicated Carrier dealers have this distinction, which signifies our experience, product-comprehension and skill,” says Hines. “Having met stringent guidelines for insurance requirements, liability coverage, EPA certifications, product training and customer commitment, our team has gone above and beyond, receiving the Carrier President’s Award for far surpassing expectations.”

Hines also serves as the president of the New Jersey Air Conditioning Contractors of America, where she works to educate fellow contractors and make sure her company remains at the forefront of HVAC regulations and technology.

As president, Hines has made it a point to position Rubino Service Company at the forefront of New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program, a statewide initiative that offers financial incentives, programs and services for New Jersey residents, business owners and local governments to help them save energy, money and the environment.

Rubino Service Company participates in the initiative’s Home Performance with Energy Star program, which means the company meets the certification guidelines of the Building Performance Institute, a organization that sets the standards for assessing and improving the energy performance of homes.

“This is a special certification that requires a great deal of time and training. There is only a select number of companies in New Jersey that have this qualification, and I’m proud that Rubino is one of them,” says Hines. “We have won the Home Performance with Energy Star Century Club Award three times. It’s an award that recognizes contractors who have improved the energy efficiency of more than 100 homes in the past year.”

photo31Rubino’s energy auditors are experts in performing testing that points out leaks in air ducts, as well as leaks and air infiltration through gaps in walls, ceilings and around doors and windows. The auditors also look for deficiencies such as insufficient insulation, air leakage, safety concerns, and air conditioning and heating system analysis.

By determining exactly where a home is wasting energy, Rubino’s certified energy audit analysts are able to develop a comprehensive plan on how to correct the problem, says Hines. “By taking steps to properly identify and seal your home’s inefficiencies, you will spend less on energy each day and save on expensive replacements of overtaxed equipment over the coming years,” she explains.

Rubino Service Company’s analysts are also able to provide homeowners with incentives for upgrades in energy-efficiency equipment and other energy upgrades through the Home Performance with Energy Star Program.

“There are some rich incentives available, including a seven-year, 0 percent loan up to $10,000 with Energy Finance Solutions for homes that are eligible,” says Hines. “These home improvements not only ensure the comfort and health of your family, they also offer a compelling difference to prospective buyers when compared to other homes in your neighborhood, should you one day want to sell your home.”
