Rock Hill Orthodontics is the latest expansion by Growing Smiles Dentistry, designed to simplify dental care for families by offering orthodontic services alongside the practice’s existing dental specialties. With Rock Hill’s opening, Growing Smiles now enables families to address all their dental needs within one integrated network.

“It’s about convenience for our patients,” says Sonny Sekhon, DDS, founder of Growing Smiles Dentistry and Rock Hill Orthodontics. “One of our goals as a company is to provide a full suite of services. There are a lot of questions that come with finding a new provider of any specialty. We don’t want to have to refer patients elsewhere, where they have to figure out if the doctor is good or if they take their insurance. We want to simplify things by offering everything under one roof.”

Rock Hill Orthodontics offers a comprehensive range of services, including traditional metal braces, clear aligners and other advanced treatments for both pediatric patients and adults. The practice emphasizes state-of-the-art technology to improve the patient experience. 

“There’s no more impression-taking,” says Dr. Sekhon. “We do everything with digital scans. We have a 3D printer where we can do a lot of the orthodontic aligners in-house. Turnaround is very quick, everything is very controlled, and we know everything’s going to come out high quality.”

Patients also benefit from digital simulations that show what their smiles could look like before starting treatment. These advancements not only streamline the process but also enhance patient comfort. 

The new standalone orthodontics facility is located in Cherry Hill between Growing Smiles’ two main offices in Voorhees and Mt. Laurel, making it easily accessible for existing patients. This integration eliminates the uncertainties of external referrals. Plus, a shared chart system across the network allows seamless transfer of records, giving every provider access to the necessary patient information.

The practice has welcomed to their team orthodontists with proven track records of success. 

“It’s important to know that our patients are getting top-quality care, and we carefully vet every doctor who comes to work with us,” says Dr. Sekhon. “We make sure the doctors lead with compassion. You’ll see that across the board, our doctors have a similar trait in the way they interact.”

This focus on interpersonal skills is a priority, he says. 

“I believe that patient interaction and relationship building is very important,” Dr. Sekhon explains. “You can train anybody on how to put on braces, but patient management skills, the way you speak with patients and the ability to form a personal relationship is something that has to be inherent to some degree. That’s what we look for in our doctors.”

Early in his career, Dr. Sekhon, trained as a pediatric dentist, noticed adults often requested treatment from him after observing his interactions with their children.

“It was like a lightbulb moment,” he says. “I decided when I went off on my own, I’d create a practice that serves entire families.”

Now, the practice offers care from infancy to adulthood, providing comprehensive services from tongue-tie revisions for newborns to dentures for elderly patients.
