Kathleen Baumgardner, DC, embodies the very definition of doctor.

“If you look at the definition and root of the word doctor, it means to teach and be an educator,” says Baumgardner. “That is my goal with my patients – to educate them and give them the tools to think, move and live as well as possible.”

Baumgardner founded Health Goals Chiropractic Center nearly 20 years ago with this holistic approach mind.

“Chiropractic provides safe, drug-free and effective relief for a wide range of health issues. We treat patients for everything from back and neck pain and stiffness to headaches, TMJ and asthma. We also treat athletes, children and infants, as well as pregnant women.”

Baumgardner says the key to effective chiropractic care for all patients, regardless of their condition, is the spine. “The spinal column has a very intimate relationship with the nervous system, which is the major controller of all bodily functions. If you correct the structural misalignment of the spinal column, the body has the ability to heal itself.”

This, says Baumgardner, is a major reason why chiropractic care is now playing an increasingly important role in healthcare.

“Research shows that opioid use and addiction is a growing trend. So many people are taking anti-inflammatories and painkillers, but those don’t correct their problems, they just mask the pain,” she says. “Pain is a warning sign that something is wrong – chiropractic finds the source of the problem and addresses it.”

Baumgardner and her exclusively female staff also work with patients to address their wellness and fitness goals.

“We offer a variety of life enhancement services like massage, acupuncture, nutrition, personal training, a naturopath and an esthetician,” says Baumgardner. “We have the best practitioners and an amazing wellness team under one roof, all working to improve our patients’ lives.”
