For Dr. Julia Spears, creating a boutique plastic surgery practice was about more than opening her own office. It was about creating an environment where every patient has the time, attention and support they deserve. 

She believes the best outcomes begin with listening. By understanding each person’s concerns, goals and expectations, Dr. Spears develops personalized treatment plans that help patients look and feel their best.

“Mentally and emotionally, plastic surgery can help people feel whole again,” she says. “It can help people regain confidence, restore what’s been lost and feel more like themselves again.”

Dr. Spears’ patient-centered philosophy took shape early in her career while helping establish the plastic surgery department at Hahnemann Hospital. The work was rigorous with a huge volume of patients. “We only had 15 minutes to spend with each patient,” she says. “It wasn’t the kind of individual attention I wanted to give.”

Today, Metropolitan Plastic Surgery reflects the vision she had from the beginning, a welcoming, team-oriented practice where patients never feel rushed, and Dr. Spears remains personally involved throughout their care.

“I want every patient to leave feeling heard, supported and confident,” she says. “When they feel like the best version of themselves, that’s success.”
