My Story

For Catherine Allen-Carlozo, women’s empowerment has been part of her life’s work for decades. “I want women to understand their finances, to feel in control of their finances and to feel confident that they have the resources to live out their dreams,” she says. “I’ve incorporated that mission into my daily work.”

Catherine serves clients as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® at HFM Investment Advisors, LLC, where she is also a Registered Social Security Analyst. Optimizing the timing of social security benefits, she says, is a critical retirement planning decision. “It can have a huge impact on your future financial  success.”

Recently, Catherine has written a book, “The Money Stories that Shaped Us: Awareness, Action, and the Story You Get to Choose Next,” which describes 5 money personalities each of us has – like saver or avoider. “We all have money personalities that were formed when we were kids,” she says. “Knowing your money personality tells you what steps to take to empower yourself.”

“The book is my way of serving more women,” she says. “I want women to feel seen, understood and supported. I want to guide them toward financial confidence and take ownership of their financial future.”
